“Over 12 million Americans live with an acquired brain injury. Every 13 seconds, someone in the U.S. sustains a traumatic brain injury (TBI). Assault, a car accident, or falls could cause TBIs. There are at least 5.3 million Americans that live with a disability as a result of a TBI.”*

For those who aren’t aware #MichaelHutchence was assaulted in August of 1992. He was with his then girlfriend supermodel #HelenaChristensen in Copenhagen; they had decided to pick up to go food to take back to Helena’s apartment. The street was very narrow; a taxi driver appeared he was very impatient to get by Michael. Michael with food in his hands was shoved backwards by the taxi driver hitting his head full force on the pavement cracking his skull which knocked him unconscious. The taxi driver left the scene never knowing the devastating state he left my brother in. Michael’s life was forever changed after this assault. He lost all sense of taste and smell, became depressed, his laidback personality changed, he became short tempered, impulsive, he just couldn’t cope with life’s difficulties therefore he heartbreakingly ended his life on 11/22/1997.

We have a great community here on Facebook supporting and remembering Michael. I ask FB group administrators to please copy and paste the write up along with the picture to share in the their FB groups. I’m asking fans to also add on Twitter, Instagram, or any form of social media. Also don’t forget to add on your personal pages. By doing all this we will do something great to bring awareness to how serious all brain Injuries are. All you have to do is take a screen shot of the photo and copy and paste the write up to share.

Michael was a loving, giving person; he was always helping others; I know he’s loving the idea of helping others by bringing awareness to all brain injuries. Thank you so much,
Tina Hutchence
